Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

One program that helps at-risk youth, in-need adults, and nonprofits is RSVP. Impact Broward Volunteers who take part in Seniors and Teachers Achieving Reading Success (STARS) tutor and mentor students in grades 1-3 in Broward County Title I elementary schools in reading and math. Our volunteers also can participate in Veterans Helping Veterans (VHV), which provides returning war veterans with a “Battle Buddy” who will provide one-on-one coaching and support. Also, mentoring veterans in Broward County Veterans Court via guidance, support and providing information and access to community resources. Finally, Impact Broward Volunteers can participate in Executive Service Corps (ESC), which matches senior executives and professionals with nonprofits in Broward County seeking advice on how to be more efficient and resilient. The service is free of charge to the nonprofits.
